Health Advisory - Virus Outbreaks
With the recent outbreak of a Norwalk type virus at Mount Allison University and possibly a second reported viral outbreak at St. Frances Xavier, the University of New Brunswick Saint John would like to take a proactive approach in the prevention of such an outbreak here on our campus. Some suggested preventative measures are as follows
• frequent washing of hands (use lots of soap and hot water)
• avoid human to human contact with people who are ill
• avoid shared surfaces such as door knobs and hand railings as much as possible
UNB Saint John has a number if contingency plans in place for safety and security concerns that may arise on campus. Managers are currently meeting to review, and update as necessary, contingency plans in case of a virus outbreak at UNB Saint John.
